Getting comfortable in my new megacity
Hey again
So all the the ESL teachers have moved in and they're all really cool so far. Four of us went out the other night to one of the bar districts - I can hardly pronounce the name let alone spell it - and had supper on the rooftop of a beautiful vietnamese restaurant overlooking the area. I realized really quickly that the district we were in not only had lots of bars but also had lots of vendors and beggars so I figured I better not have too much to drink or I would find myself a poor girl in the morning! Check out my pics of the bars and the flaming coconut bowl of coconut beef in the pictures - it was pretty impressive! Well the morning came and I rushed to get ready to go for a mandatory physical which was needed by customs to get a residence permit - however the first thing I did - as most of us do after a night on the town - was grab some breakfast, forgetting that I couldn't eat before they took blood samples or my blood sugar levels would be high. So I guess tomorrow will be the day to wait in line with other 'aliens' to establish myself as a non-vector of disease to the chinese people. Take care canucks and I'll talk to ya later!
