More talking to myself (and hoping you'll read it)

Hello everyone! I was having some prior problems with this blogsite - it seems that anything to do with computers just isn't up my alley!! So, let's see where I left off....to begin, I got a surprise invitation from some of my students to go with them on their class trip to Fragrant Hills. Fragrant Hills is a beautiful hiking mountain area which is supposidly covered in maple trees. Not suprisingly, the only maple leaves I saw there were from street peddlers trying to sell clusters of them! But the trip itself was a lot of fun - a full day of hiking from 6:30 am - 4:00 pm!! My students were all really sweet and made me feel like a celebrity since they all wanted to take pictures with me! This is my favourite picture though - it's like a 'where's waldo' - part and parcel of the glories of having dark hair and eyes!
So that's my story for halloween..
..I also wore my costume to classand it seemed like my students sure got a kick out of it - I had them take turns wearing the hat when they answered my questions.

Also, some of the other teachers and I dressed up for Halloween and went to a party that night - it was quite fun until it became obvious that I had ingested some kind of bug while hiking at fragrant hills that day (maybe from the dirt or the railings......I only lick them when no one's looking) and went home early to begin my super-flu-can't keep-anything-down session which lasted a total of 3 days. Here's a pic of some foreigners and co. at the shindig:

Shopping seems to be an obsession here - even it it means just walking through the mega malls and markets and watching other people spend, spend spend... maybe the endorphin rush experienced after you spend money is so high here that you can get your fix of it just by window shopping!! So I was at a market with a my Argentinean friend (who speaks perfect Chinese) and a brawl broke out outside the store...I don't know about you - but I have NEVER seen two 40-year-old(ish) women go at eachother with clotheshangers and claws....what do you think......
Here are also some pics of a beautiful musical that our bosses took us to see a couple weeks ago. There was alot of dancing and tons of beautiful costumes - all I could think was "how long did it take them to sew all this?"

Alrighty friends, I must go to tutor now - I tutor a french girl every weekend so that I can practice my french and teach her some english at the same time - I think my French is definetly compensating for my lack of chinese knowledge right now!
